ECC History

There is no doubt in the mind of Scott Taube, lead planter of ECC that God led his family to Greater Portland in August of 2003. Two other families from Ohio joined them to begin the adventure of laying foundations for a new church. In March of 2004 EastPointe Christian Church, in conjunction with Restoration House Ministries of New Hampshire, opened in the former Maine Mall Cinema. The theater served as a launch pad for the first 6 months.

Church services were later held at the Marriott Sable Oaks Hotel until December of 2005. More adequate space was found in leasing a warehouse located in Scarborough on Route 1. The space includes a large worship & recreation center with offices and children’s ministry areas. In late 2006, ECC welcomed Jared Cowgur and his wife Rachel to serve as youth pastor. We anticipate an exciting future as Jesus is lifted up and taken into the communities of Greater Portland.
